Veyra Cars is a premium car rental marketplace connecting travellers with a carefully selected network of local rental partners across 39 cities in France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. For the purposes of data protection law, the controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy is Veyra Cars, which can be contacted for any privacy or booking question at [email protected]. This policy applies to veyracars.com and to the enquiries, calls, emails and WhatsApp messages you send us in connection with a potential or confirmed rental.

We collect personal data directly from you and, to a limited extent, automatically from your browser.

• Enquiry form: name, email address, phone number (optional), chosen car (optional), start and finish location, pick-up and drop-off dates, flight number (on the airport delivery form only), any free-text message you add, together with the page URL and referrer that led you to submit the form.
• Direct contact: anything you tell us by email, phone or WhatsApp when you reach out about a rental.
• WhatsApp click record: when you tap a WhatsApp button on the site, we record the page URL, referrer, language and the prefilled message text in our booking system before WhatsApp opens. The conversation that follows happens on WhatsApp itself and is governed by WhatsApp's (Meta's) own privacy policy, not by this one.
• Handover details: if your booking is confirmed, the local partner in the chosen city will ask to see your driving licence and identity document at the time of vehicle handover. This is collected in person by the partner, not through the website, and is necessary to verify that you are entitled to drive and to complete the rental agreement.
• Server logs: our hosting automatically records the IP address, time, requested page and browser of visitors to the site, for a short period, for security purposes.

We do not use cookies on our own website, and we do not run analytics, advertising or social-media tracking tools.

We process personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:

• To respond to your enquiry and prepare a written quote – this is a pre-contractual step taken at your request, ahead of a possible rental agreement.
• To confirm, manage and perform a booking once it is agreed in writing, including sharing the necessary details with the local partner and verifying your driving licence and identity at handover – this is necessary for the performance of the rental contract.
• To keep our website and booking system secure, including the retention of server logs – this is based on our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and our clients against misuse, fraud or technical failure.
• To meet our tax and accounting obligations in respect of confirmed bookings – this is based on legal obligations that apply to the rental business.

We do not sell personal data, we do not use it to make automated decisions about you, and we do not send marketing emails unless you specifically ask us to.

Personal data is accessible to our own team, who use an internal messaging tool to route and answer enquiries quickly. When a booking is confirmed, we share the enquiry details needed to perform the rental with the local partner operating in the chosen city, who will also collect your driving-licence and ID details directly at handover. Our website is served by a hosting provider that processes server logs on our behalf. Certain third-party services load technical resources when you use the site: Google Fonts (which receives your IP address to serve web fonts), the intl-tel-input library delivered via the jsDelivr CDN for the phone-number field, and the Leaflet mapping library together with CARTO map tiles for the destinations map on the homepage, both of which receive your IP address. None of these providers sets cookies on our behalf. If you start a conversation through our WhatsApp button, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy. We also link to our profiles on Google, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot in the footer; nothing from those platforms loads unless you actively click through to them.

Because Veyra Cars operates across the European Union, Switzerland, Monaco and the United Arab Emirates, data relating to a confirmed booking may be shared with the local partner in the city where the rental takes place, including outside the European Economic Area where that city is in Switzerland, Monaco or the United Arab Emirates. Where this involves a transfer of personal data outside the EEA, we rely on the safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses, or on the fact that the transfer is necessary to perform the rental contract you have requested. Technical service providers such as Google Fonts, jsDelivr and CARTO/unpkg may process the visitor's IP address on servers located outside the visitor's own country as part of their ordinary content-delivery operations.

Enquiries that do not result in a booking are kept in our booking system for 24 months and then deleted. Records relating to a confirmed booking, including the handover verification details, are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to retain them. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes only. The local-storage entry that remembers you have closed the cookie notice, and the session-storage entry that remembers which car you clicked on, contain no contact details and are either persistent on your device until you clear it (cookie notice) or deleted automatically when you close the tab or send the enquiry form (car selection).

We limit access to personal data to the people and systems described in this policy and rely on our hosting provider's infrastructure to serve the site and store server logs securely. Enquiry and booking data is held in our booking system and shared with local partners only to the extent needed to prepare a quote or perform a confirmed rental.

Under the GDPR and the national data protection laws of the countries in which we operate, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of the data you provided to us in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on your request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence within the European Union.

Our services are intended for adults capable of entering into a car rental agreement, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
