Puerto Portals and Portals Nous. The marina district favoured by owners and charter guests alike. Valet stands outside the restaurants make a coupe or convertible practical rather than showy, and delivery straight to a villa or hotel in this area is routine for us.
Serra de Tramuntana roads toward Valldemossa and Deià. Tight bends and long sightlines make this stretch the one clients ask for by name when they want to feel a car properly. Mornings are quieter on the road; parking in the villages is limited, so a compact or mid-size sports model suits the terrain better than anything oversized.
Santa Ponsa and Camp de Mar, southwest coast. A working stretch for golf, private clubs and quieter beach access. Roads are wide and fast enough to enjoy a V8 or electric performance model without the congestion of the capital.
Palma city centre and Paseo Marítimo. Best suited to an SUV or a well-mannered saloon rather than anything wide-bodied — historic streets narrow quickly and parking near the cathedral and marina promenade rewards a car that's easy to place.
Alcúdia and the northern bay. A longer excursion across the island, worth planning as a full day out. The drive north opens onto flatter roads and wider bays, and a car with real range or comfort over distance earns its place here.
